BY SEA
You are the driver, the cook, the seamstress, the cleaner, the plumber, the electrician, the mechanic, the builder, the hostess, the navigator, the foreign diplomat, the water collector, the fisherman, the rigger, the sailboat owner.
“A sailboat is a hole in the ocean that you throw your money into.” – Every sailboat owner ever
A sailboat is a dream of freedom, of self sufficiency and independence. The feeling that the edge of land is not the limit, that the water is now a road, that the island on the other side is now attainable. And it is hard work, and stress, and loneliness, and all of the baggage that you bring aboard. It is all of life molded into a 30-40 foot fiberglass, wooden, steel, or aluminum hull.
